Do not want.
So I spiffed up an empty, boring corner of my bedroom instead!
Before
I'd actually had a big stair-step style bookshelf here for a while, because I had nowhere else to put it. Nothing was even on it, except the occasional cat; the other day I'd removed a bookshelf from my closet and painted it black to use in the sewing room, and had moved the step-shelf into the closet instead, leaving this bedroom corner looking a bit...
I loved the artwork here, but it needed...more? And a better side table than this tiny red one (which I love, but which was WAY too small). Enter the new-to-me Ikea FORNSBRO table:
..which wanted only a coat of bright teal paint and a scarf...
After
table + basket = nightstand with "drawer" :D
Yay! All the artwork* is more pictures-from-the-internet printed out with Blockposters.com. I've had the metal star mobile-thing for years and years, and move it from room to room, though it's been heaped on top of my dressing table for months, waiting for me to decide where to hang it. My guitar found a home here, too - I usually play in front of the computer in the living room, from music I have saved online, but it's not like I can't whip it out from here just as easily. Plus I love having it out where I can see it all the time. There's just something magical about the potential of a musical instrument just sitting there, waiting for someone to pick it up. :)
* By the way, most of the art on the wall is stuff that's up for grabs - old stuff, common-use stuff - but the Radha/Krishna painting is something I found recently, and I can NOT find the name of the artist to give credit! If anyone recognizes it, please comment and let me know so I can link back!

Awesome awesomeness. :) (gosh, that's an over-used word nowadays) I loved what you did with my little table!!
ReplyDeleteFun! Love the guitar out too. Ours are usually scattered somewhere...tripping someone!
